چکیده
Total cross-sections and logarithmic slopes of the elastic scattering crosssections for different hadronic processes are calculated in the framework of the model of the stochastic vacuum. The relevant parameters of this model, a correlation length and the gluon condensate, are determined from scattering data, and found to be in very good agreement with values coming from completely different sources of information. A parameter-free relation is given between total cross-sections and slope parameters, which is shown to be remarkably valid up to the highest energies for which data exist. Differential cross sections for high energy elastic hadron-hadron scattering in nonperturbative QCD
Total and differential cross sections for high energy and small momentum transfer elastic hadron-hadron scattering are studied in QCD using a functional integral approach. The hadronic amplitudes are governed by vacuum expectation values of lightlike Wegner-Wilson loops, for which a matrix cumulant expansion is derived. The cumulants are evaluated within the framework of the Minkowskian version...
متن کاملHigh–energy Hadron–hadron (dipole–dipole) Scattering from Lattice Qcd
In this paper the problem of the high–energy hadron–hadron (dipole–dipole) scattering is approached (for the first time) from the point of view of lattice QCD, by means of Monte Carlo numerical simulations. In the first part, we give a brief review of how high– energy scattering amplitudes can be reconstructed, using a functional integral approach, in terms of certain correlation functions of t...
متن کاملSingle Spin Asymmetries in High Energy Reactions and Nonperturbative QCD Effects
We discuss some experimental and theoretical results on single spin asymmetries (SSA) in high energy lepton-hadron and hadron-hadron reactions. In particular, recent results on meson SSA obtained by HERMES are considered in detail. We also discuss the SSA results obtained recently by COMPASS, as well as those from BRAHMS, PHENIX and STAR. Special attention is paid to a possible nonperturbative ...
متن کاملSMALL x, SATURATION AND THE HIGH ENERGY LIMIT OF QCD
The high energy limit of QCD is controlled by the small-x part of a hadron wavefunction. We argue that this part is universal to all hadrons and is composed of a new form of matter: a Colored Glass Condensate. This matter is weakly interacting at very small x, but is nonperturbative because of the highly occupied boson states which compose the condensate. Such a matter might be studied in high ...
متن کاملNonperturbative Corrections in Resummed Cross Sections
We show that the resummation of large perturbative corrections in QCD leads to ambiguities in high energy cross sections that are suppressed by powers of large momentum scales. These ambiguities are caused by infrared renormalons, which are a general feature of resummed hard-scattering functions in perturbative QCD, even though these functions are infrared safe order-by-order in perturbation th...
